April is Fair Housing Month
Fair Housing month brings awareness to the increased efforts to end housing discrimination and raises awareness of fair housing rights.
Fair Housing month is celebrated in April of each year in honor of the Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, or the Fair Housing Act. The Fair Housing Act (FHA) was passed in the wake of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King's roots in fair housing can be traced back to the Chicago Freedom Movement.

The 17th annual Taste of Oxford is set to take place Thursday, February 27th at 6:30 PM at The Jefferson Oxford. This wonderful event features cuisine from local Oxford restaurants and a silent auction where all proceeds go to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Annually, every Continuum of Care in the nation performs a Point-in-Time (PIT) Count of all people experiencing homelessness in a shelter and on the street in the last 10 days of January. The PIT count offers the ability to monitor trends in homelessness across a geography, support local efforts in ending homelessness by identifying unmet needs and characteristics of persons experiencing homelessness, and identify areas where the development of housing and supportive service programs is needed.
