Homeowners Top 5 (Doable!) Home Projects for 2023

Every homeowner has some home project to tackle, but sometimes these projects can seem so overwhelming (like a kitchen or bath renovation) that you end up not doing anything! This realtor.com article polled homeowners on what small, doable home improvements they may want to tackle this new year.

1. Create a workstation. Work from home or hybrid working is here to stay. Quit working from your kitchen island and create a dedicated space for your work.

2. Add a dash of gold or paint tile. Switch out old fixtures for new gold ones or paint worn tile. Make sure you don’t paint tile that comes in contact with water.

3. Make some energy saving moves. Install programmable thermostats, switch to energy efficient appliances and seal any drafts in the home.

4. Add a garden. Pick a spot in your home that has good sunlight and good drainage.

5. Pay down your mortgage. Not all projects involve sprucing up a physical space. You can pay a little extra each month on your mortgage or one extra payment a year. The faster you pay down your mortgage, the less interest payments you will have to make.
