Planning to Sell This Year? Start Getting Your Home Ready Now
Selling season is upon us! Here are some helpful tips to get your home ready to sell for top dollar:
1. Update your home. Most buyers right now want a move-in ready home, not a project. Consider updating your countertops, appliances and flooring. You should also consider new plumbing fixtures, vanities and cabinet hardware. These updates will be more appealing to buyers and bring in more money.
2. De-clutter, organize and clean. You want buyers to walk through and focus on the space in your home, not the clutter.
3. Windows and screens. Be sure to have your windows cleaned inside and out, including the tracks where your screens sit. If you notice some windows are fogged or hard to open, get those repaired. If some screens are torn, get those replaced/repaired. This will not only make your home look better, but bring in more money.
4. Landscaping. Remove dead trees and limbs and cut back or remove overgrown bushes. Don’t forget to freshen up your flower beds with mulch, pine straw or river rocks. Curb appeal is important!
5. Have a plan. Meet with your Neighborhood Realtor to help you get started with the selling process, assist you with your next home, rental or storage and prepare you and your home for this crazy real estate market.
