Neighborhood Business Highlight: Lulu’s Shoes & Daisy Gift Company

Looking for those perfect shoes for game day in The Grove or that special gift for your best friend? Lulu’s Shoes & Accessories and Daisy Gift Company, both located on the Oxford Square, will have exactly what you’re looking for! Corinne and Kent Jackson, owners of both stores, have made a name for themselves – not just for providing more affordable options at their downtown stores, but for giving both high school and college students a meaningful place to work. One of their current employees shared, “Corinne and Kent are two of the most caring and considerate bosses ever. They put so much effort into hearing our opinions about the store and how to improve it as well. They have created an amazing atmosphere that operates as a family.”

Lulu’s opened in July of 2010 after Corinne and Kent noticed a need for more affordable shoes and jewelry on the Oxford Square. Daisy was an idea they’d had for a while and an opportunity arose in the middle of the pandemic. Their landlord had an amazing storefront come open and they moved right in! This was their perfect opportunity to provide more affordable gift options geared toward younger customers on the Square.

We ask our Neighborhood businesses how the Oxford and Lafayette county real estate market affects them. Corinne shared, “Like any interwoven community, our business shares peaks and valleys with other markets. The downtown residential area and condo owners really help shape Oxford into a year round shopping destination. No longer dependent on University enrollment, our tourism sustains itself year round with families taking weekend and Spring Break trips to stay in their second homes.”  We are grateful for Lulu’s and Daisy Gifts and their commitment to affordability and style! Be sure to go by and see them at 265 North Lamar Blvd, Suites V and J.
