Neighborhood Business Highlight: Oil Shed

Oil Shed (Oxford Interior Landscape) came on the scene in November of 2017 and we can’t imagine Oxford without this cool little spot that provides interesting and unique plants and gifts. It’s one of our favorite places to choose a “welcome to your new home” gift! We are grateful to Kecia Kirk, owner, for bringing this much needed business to life.

While shopping there this week for yet another gift, we learned a little bit about its history. Kecia was tired of going to 10 different stores to get her entertaining pieces. She wanted to create a space where someone could come and pick out everything in one spot. She came up with the “Flower Bar” for shoppers to either design their own (hands-on experience) or have her wonderful, helpful staff design it for them.  And it was essential that she provide pots, plants, gifts, etc. that could fit any budget.

We ask our Neighborhood businesses how the Oxford and Lafayette county real estate market affects them. Kecia says it definitely affects her shop. From realtors shopping for “new home” gifts to 2nd home buyers shopping for their condos/townhomes to locals shopping to spruce up their homes to rent out for football or baseball weekends, Oxford real estate keeps her business steady. And we are all grateful we get the pleasure of having this unique spot in our little town! Be sure to go by and see them at 764 N Lamar Blvd. behind Oxford Canteen.
