Meet the Neighborhood Realty Team: Meredith Killens
It’s our 2 Year Anniversary and we’re sharing who WE are! Last, but not least: Meredith Killens, Realtor & Property Manager.
Meredith Killens’ diverse business experience has led her to finding her true passion in a town she is proud to call home. Upon graduating from Ole Miss, she had the opportunity to work for Tom Davis State Farm where she had the pleasure to work as a Property and Casualty Insurance Sales Representative. It was there she learned the importance of customer service and the value of relationship building. The world of insurance is still very near and dear to her heart, as her husband has worked in the industry for nearly 10 years and her father over 30 years.
After State Farm, she transitioned to a wealth management firm as a Client Relations and Event Planning Specialist, further expanding her client relations skills. In 2020, she learned that The Citizens Bank, a small town community bank based out of her husbands’ home town, was opening a branch in Oxford. Working at a community bank for three years gave her the opportunity to wear many hats and truly learn the retail side of banking. Meredith shared, “Because of the size of the bank, we were a small team that had the opportunity to not only have professional relationships with our customers, but allowed us to know each of them on a personal level as well.” It was her experience in mortgage lending, and working with realtors, that helped her solidify that real estate was where she was being called.
Meredith believes the customer experience matters. From working with buyers to purchase to working with sellers to prepare their homes for the market to working with owners to manage their rental property, she knows every detail matters and she will go above and beyond to make sure that experience is done well. Meredith shared, “I've always been a natural facilitator of people. I love to connect with people and connect other people with each other. There is always something new to learn. I do not take it lightly and it is a great honor when people choose to work with me.”
As a working mother of two young girls, Meredith still finds time to give back. She currently serves on the Parent Advisory Team at First Baptist Weekday and serves on different committees at Regents School of Oxford. She is also a member of Pinelake Church with her family.
When not working, Meredith enjoys spending time at the Oxford Country Club, Ole Miss sporting events, and traveling with family and friends. She likes staying active with group tennis lessons and enjoys weekly walks throughout the Ole Miss campus and the Oxford Square with her girlfriends. The favorite parts of her day are spent with her husband, Kyle (Insurance Broker/ Owner with Goosehead Insurance), and her two precious girls, Ellie (7) and Birdie (3).
