Meet the Neighborhood Realty Team: Brooke Worthy
Neighborhood Realty celebrates our 2 year anniversary this month! We are so grateful to our clients, local realtors, local lenders, local home inspectors and other community vendors and members who have helped contribute to our success. Now let’s share a bit about who WE are!
Brooke Worthy, Broker/Owner of Neighborhood Realty, spent her first 7 years as a Realtor with Marchbanks Real Estate learning from the very best, Dick Marchbanks. Brooke shared, “I knew I only wanted to learn the real estate business from Dick Marchbanks. He was one of the first realtors in Oxford, back when there were only 3 or 4 real estate agents in the area.”
Brooke believes any real estate deal should not just be a transaction, but a personal, thoughtful, educational experience. Real estate matters in a community and the people purchasing or selling that real estate are the ones who will contribute to that community. Brooke shared, “I love my job. I love working with all kinds of buyers and sellers, but my heart goes out to first-time home buyers. As a former teacher, I believe education is key when working with any client, but especially first-time home buyers. Purchasing a home is one of the most expensive things one will do in their lifetime. I hope that I can help ease the anxiety and stress, elevate the excitement of this huge life moment, provide excellent local, professional referrals (lenders, home inspectors, plumbers, electricians, etc.) and, of course, educate my clients on the best practices in my field.”
Brooke believes in community and serving, that’s why her customer service is top-notch. She does EVERYTHING to help her clients in any transaction. She also believes in giving back to her community. She currently serves on the City of Oxford’s Affordable Housing Commission and is Past-President of LOU-HOME, INC., a local non-profit dedicated to increasing and promoting affordable housing opportunities within the Lafayette county community. She is very active in her church, St. Peter’s Episcopal (also known as the “pumpkin church on the Square”). She has recently rolled off a 3-year term on the church leadership, the Vestry. She has also served with her local Realtor board, North Central MS Realtors, as both Secretary and as a Director.
As a music major in college, Brooke enjoys playing the piano every day. She loves creating and making music with her husband, Michael Worthy (Ole Miss Jazz Band Director), and her 10-year old son, Bennett. Their entire family recently performed in the Gertrude Ford Center’s production of The Music Man.
