Neighborhood Philanthropy: CASA

Neighborhood Realty is proud to highlight a truly exceptional nonprofit making a profound difference in our community: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of North Mississippi as our Philanthropy Spotlight of the Month!

At Neighborhood Realty, we believe that a strong community begins with safe, loving homes for our youngest neighbors. CASA of North Mississippi stands as a beacon of hope for children experiencing the foster care system, giving a powerful voice to those who need it most during challenging times.

About CASA of North Mississippi‍ ‍

CASA’s mission is to train volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children in court proceedings, ensuring every child finds a safe, permanent home. Founded in late 2017 by Director Erin Smith, the organization officially began serving children in 2018. What started with just three volunteers has flourished into an essential non-profit serving Lafayette, Lee, and Yalobusha counties. Supported by an 8-person staff, 54 dedicated child advocates, and over 250 regular volunteers, CASA of North Mississippi actively supports more than 100 children in the foster care system today. Beyond their core advocacy work, CASA also gives back locally by hosting a free, community-wide Easter Egg Hunt at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium every spring.
