Neighborhood Business Highlight: Cat Daddy’s & InkSpot

From National Championship apparel to Big Bad Breakfast t-shirts to iconic Lane Kiffin shirts, Chris & Judy Riddell have been creating and printing our favorite Oxford and Ole Miss apparel for over 30 years. Opened in 1990, Ink Spot has been creating and printing custom t-shirts and serves as the parent company for Cat Daddy’s, the retail store opened in 2000. Both work together seamlessly and bring great designs to our Oxford/Lafayette County area!

Ideas and designs begin with the Ink Spot graphic designer, Ally Cunningham. An Oxford native, Ally attended the University of Mississippi and completed her BFA. She is the sole creative designer and has pages and pages of design concepts and illustrations in her sketchbook, most of which will show up on t-shirts in Cat Daddy’s. She also designs custom shirts for groups or businesses. You’ll see her work throughout Oxford and Ole Miss, but some of her most notable business artwork can be seen on Big Bad Breakfast (City Grocery Restaurant Group) t-shirts, Proud Larry’s apparel and Ace Atkins’s work (author).

Cat Daddy’s sells shirts designed and printed by Ink Spot. Riddell shares, “Brian Hilliard, a long-time employee, really knows his customers and it’s amazing how he remembers people from year to year when they come in.” While focused on being family friendly, their original designs are popular among all age groups. The store offers shelves and shelves packed with a huge selection of tanks, t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts and sweatshirts. Other apparel is also available and they are always running some type of special or sale.

We ask our Neighborhood businesses how the Oxford and Lafayette county real estate market affects them. Riddell shared, “Retail businesses in Oxford, particularly on the Square, are tied to the housing market in Oxford. The influx of second-home owners is wonderful for business.”

We are so grateful for Cat Daddy’s & Ink Spot and their commitment to providing cool and fun t-shirt designs and printing services. Cat Daddy’s is located at 304 South Lamar on the Oxford Square and is open Monday – Saturday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
