Neighborhood Business Highlight: Caffecitos Espresso

Chad Collier and Pablo Corona

Oxford is host to some wonderful food trucks, but there is only ONE coffee truck, Caffecitos Espresso! Take two men, a trip to Italy, a heart for customer service and a passion for good coffee and you get one very fantastic coffee experience!

Chad Collier knows coffee and Pablo Corona knows customer service. Their combined experiences (and personalities) create the perfect combination for the first ever coffee truck in Oxford, and we LOVE them and their coffee!

Before opening Caffecitos Espresso, Chad worked for Highpointe coffee and managed the Oxford location and two Memphis locations. Pablo worked in New York City as a sales manager for the Waldorf Astoria hotel. They met in 2008 and lived in New York City for a few years before moving back to Chad’s hometown of Oxford. They operated and owned a successful photography business where they photographed 217 weddings over 10 years. But they both felt Oxford was missing something – its first coffee truck.

Working with the City of Oxford and Wayne Andrews, Executive Director of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council, they were able to secure a perfect spot for their big yellow truck – the Old Armory Pavilion located on the corner of Bramlett Blvd and University Ave. Chad and Pablo both felt it was meant to be and decided they would donate a percentage of their monthly sales back to the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council each month – “artists giving back to the arts community.”

We asked Pablo what his favorite part of their new business has been and he shared, “We have made so many friends out of a shared love of coffee. The college students and locals have embraced our creative and loud personalities and passion for our love of coffee and great customer service. It’s amazing the love we’ve received for just being ‘us’.”

We ask our Neighborhood businesses how the Oxford and Lafayette county real estate market affects them. Chad shared, “Oxford is home to a wonderful university, Ole Miss. It brings students and their parents from all over the country. The ‘second home’ market has definitely impacted our business in a positive way! Coffee is a luxury item, just like a second home, and Oxford is the perfect place to own a luxury condo on the Oxford Square and pop by our truck for a high quality cup of coffee/espresso.”

We are grateful for Caffecitos Espresso for bringing Oxford its FIRST coffee truck and wonderful, caring owners who provide a community environment with top-notch coffee and customer service. Be sure to go by and see them at the Old Armory Pavilion in the yellow truck. They are open Tuesday-Saturday 7 AM – 3 PM.
