Neighborhood Business Highlight: Back 9 Oxford

Back 9 Oxford, fondly known as “The Country Club on The Square,” offers a different kind of sports bar experience for all ages. Looking for great food, multi-sport game simulators and a great bar menu? Back 9 Oxford is the place and we are happy to highlight them this month!

Back 9 Oxford opened in April of 2023. Owners, Coty Childs and Colin Turner, both from Ripley, MS and Charles Turner from Atlanta, GA, wanted to give Oxford a new sports bar experience. They shared, “This is not your average sports bar! It’s located on the historic Oxford Square and features a full service kitchen, award winning chef and bartenders with four Full Swing multi-sport simulators featuring over 15 games where golfers and sports enthusiasts of all levels can enjoy a round of golf or act as a quarterback.”

Back 9 Oxford has a prime location on the Oxford Square that has a comfortable, relaxing and attractive “country club” style atmosphere. They serve elevated, ‘Fast Casual’ food that’s always made fresh to order. The best-selling items are the Lobster Rolls and the Korean BBQ sandwiches. Their Chef, Chris Madkins, offers daily and weekly specials. So be sure to follow them on Instagram and Facebook.

We ask our Neighborhood businesses how the Oxford and Lafayette county real estate market affects them. The Back 9 Oxford owners shared, “When the market is good, it brings in new people that are eager to try a new establishment. They are even more eager to try locally owned establishments on The Square, which really benefits us.”

We are so excited for the Back 9 Oxford new sports bar vision and know that both locals and visitors will enjoy the fun vibe. Back 9 Oxford is located at 308 South Lamar Blvd and they are open Monday-Tuesday 4:00 pm – 12:00 am and Wednesday-Saturday 11:00 am – 1:00 am and Sunday 11:00 am – 9:00 pm. Follow them on social media (Facebook & Instagram).
