7 Important Things Sellers Forget To Do
It’s time to sell your home. You’ve chosen your Realtor, made a list of small repairs and had them done, had your major appliances checked and serviced, decluttered your home…..but there are some things that Sellers often forget to do. Check out this realtor.com article to learn the 7 important things that Sellers usually forget to do when selling their home.
1. Google your address. All Sellers should now look at their listing on the internet. Check to make sure the google street view shows your current home (if you’ve made improvements). Be sure to include those improvements in your listing.
2. Account for improvements and issues. This is a disclosure issue and it is the law in the state of Mississippi. A Seller must disclose everything they know about their home (the good and the bad).
3. Check your real estate agent’s references. Referrals are always one of the best tools when choosing a trusted agent. We LOVE referrals at Neighborhood Realty!
4. Insist on social media marketing. Make sure your agent is using all types of marketing.
5. Make sure the doorbell rings. Attention to detail is important. If your buyer notices that you didn’t even fix your doorbell (a minor repair), that could be a red flag for not fixing other things in the home.
6. Clean INSIDE everything. Storage is a major selling point, so make sure you clean inside closets, cabinets, refrigerators. It’s worth it to get a deep clean before listing your home.
7. Be specific about which items are NOT included in the sale. Make sure your agent knows this and has this information accessible to the buyer’s agent.
