Neighborhood Business Highlight: The Frame Up

Tommy Cribbs, owner

The Frame Up has been custom framing Oxford and surrounding Lafayette county’s art work since 1980. While in college 22 years ago, Tommy Cribbs began working at The Frame Up. He purchased the business in 2014. He has an eye for custom framing and a friendly, attentive presence that makes you feel like you are his favorite customer each time you walk in!

The Frame Up was located on the Oxford Square for many years and recently moved to its current location, 1308 North Lamar Blvd. Tommy liked being on the Square, but finds parking is much easier for his customers at his new location. “It’s amazing that my customers can park right at the front door!”

The Frame Up specializes in custom framing and Tommy is there to both listen and guide you through the selection process. Tommy shared, “I began working at The Frame Up while in college and immediately loved the job because of the customers. Framing is a very intimate process and it creates a bond between the framer and the customer. I enjoy both meeting new people every day, welcoming my long-time customers and the connection I build with them.”

We ask our Neighborhood businesses how the Oxford and Lafayette county real estate market affects them. Tommy shared, “Yes, it most certainly does. The second home market has been good to us. We see many customers who need to fill their Oxford condo walls with art. However, the Oxford real estate market, in general, has a surprisingly high turn-over and it keeps us very busy.”

The Frame Up is located at 1308 North Lamar Blvd. It’s open Monday-Saturday 10:00 am - 5:30 pm. We are grateful to Tommy and The Frame Up for their keen eye and welcoming presence that help to surround our walls with beautiful, framed art!
