Neighborhood Business Highlight: Good Day Cafe

If there’s one thing Oxford is known for, it's the wide-range of small businesses that dish out some of the best plates you’ve ever had, and Good Day Cafe is no exception to that trend. Co-Owners Ross, Joseph, and Executive Chef Patrick have had their doors open since September of 2022 and have been booming in business ever since.

Located just next to Volta on North Lamar Boulevard, this is the best place to take a long lunch after spending time in the midtown area or shopping at Chicory Market. From 11-2:30pm from Wednesday to Friday or 10-2:00pm on the weekends, enjoy lunch or ‘elevated brunch’ as Owner Ross Hester describes.

For the tastebuds:
“One of our best-selling items is the Good Burger. The Good Burger features two smashed Home Place Pastures beef patties, American cheese, garlic-mustard aioli, lettuce, tomato, fried shallots & house pickles on a brioche bun.”

For Ross and his partners, the real estate business is critical to their ability to thrive in Oxford. Ross shared, “With the growth of the university, Oxford has become a hot weekend destination for family visits, which only helps to grow the Cafe.” Their prime location in an eatery district nestled between a few developments is only a boost, and they are excited to announce their plans to start a dinner menu this Summer, as well as their plans to acquire a liquor license and add a few signature cocktails to their menu.

According to Ross, their recent move has helped them expand exponentially. “The new location is a new opportunity to serve more people and make more good days and good lunches for guests.”

Everyone who lives in Oxford has their favorite spots for dining, and our business counts on Ross, Joseph and Patrick to continue to serve their excellent dishes to create the Good Days we have in our thriving town!
