This month’s Interior Decorator Spotlight is The Wood Shed by JJ. Allen “JJ” Jones was born and raised in Oxford, MS and was a three-sport athlete at Oxford High School. Getting a degree in criminal justice while also playing sports in college, he quickly discovered criminal justice was not for him. After getting sole custody of his 13 year old daughter, he found himself homeless and living with his daughter in his truck in the Walmart parking lot in northern Mississippi. He moved back to Oxford and found creative wood working to not only be his God given gift, but his passion that he has since turned into a successful business.
We recently spoke with JJ in Oxford to ask him 3 questions:
Neighborhood Realty: “What services do you offer?”
JJ: “We offer a large variety of custom woodworking services that are exclusively mastered and crafted just for you! We offer custom mantels, tables, exterior and interior doors, barn doors, iron work, floating shelves, cutting boards, kitchen island tops, and a large variety of woodworking projects made of exotic, domestic, and reclaimed wood.”
Neighborhood Realty: “What is your process when meeting with a new client?”
JJ: “Once a client contacts me, I personally love meeting them in their home or space. This gives me a true feel for the look they desire or aim for. Once we communicate and have a mutual understanding of their project, I put an estimate together and prepare the work.”
Neighborhood Realty: “What is your favorite part of your business?”
JJ: “My favorite part of my business is delivering a product that truly exceeds my client’s expectations, knowing that they know I truly gave my best effort to assure their complete satisfaction!”
