Neighborhood Philanthropy: The Ford Center Foundation
The Ford Center Foundation - Summer Musical Oxford, MS - The Ford Center Foundation’s annual summer musical at the Gertrude Castellow Ford Center for the Performing Arts is a beloved tradition in Oxford, bringing together local performers of all ages for a vibrant, full-scale stage production. Held June 26–27, this community-driven event showcases the incredible talent of Oxford residents while creating a meaningful space for connection through the arts. With a mix of seasoned performers and first-time cast members, the production captures the spirit of the town—offering a high-quality, family-friendly experience that feels both professional and deeply personal.
The Ford Center Foundation also offers two summer theatre camps for children and teens. Julia Aubrey, current Director of the Gertrude C. Ford Center, began the workshop with her husband, Bob Aubrey, with the goal to develop performance skills in music, drama and movement through creative exercises. The two weeks culminate in a short production that allow the children to demonstrate their new skills and express themselves as singing actors. Over the past 20 years, hundreds of children have performed in the YMTW in collaboration with the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council, the UM Opera Theatre, and Oxford Shakespeare Festival.
Neighborhood Realty is excited that our Broker, Brooke Worthy, and her family will once again be in this summer’s community musical, State Fair and two of our Neighborhood Realty teens will be performing in the Youth Theatre workshop set for June 12th.
